Bronzing

Bronzing

Gold-plated dim sims
Unbelievable what people collect and bring into the Bronzing Studio for bronzing. We find it mind-blowing.
A customer brought in about 6 dim sims to be coated in nickel and gold.A novel idea. Brings back memories?
A dim sim is a Chinese-inspired meat dumpling-style snack food popular in Australia.
The first step we had to do is bring them to be freeze dried to extract all the water and fat.Than we had to seal them
with a resin making sure not to deminish any of the details, inserting an electrode in the form of a copper wire to pass
the current and to hold the dim sims in the plating tank. They are then coated with a conductive paint, copper-plated for 4-6 hours,
nickel-plated and last but not least gold-plated. It sure will last a lifetime.
Picture yourself with a collection of bronzed dim sims. You would be absolutely unique.
Our motto is, You name it, we bronze it.

Bronzing sentimental items
One of our customers inquired if we can bronze a blade of grass. The grass was where he met his fiancee 1o years ago.
Nothing surprises us anymore, but the imagination certainly went wild at exactly why people want things bronzed.
We bronzed wedding lingerie, lace on wedding dresses, umbilical cords, silk booties, dummies, body parts and even
covered dim sums in 24 k gold. As well as helping artists with sculptures we assist people who want to preserve and protect
their keepsakes and heirlooms to turn them into keepsakes. It's all about eternalising a moment in time.
When we cover keepsakes like baby shoes and hospital bands we are preserving the moment in which these people came onto Earth.
The Bronzing Studio has also restored and covered objects tied to people leaving Earth, including a pair of sunglasses
owned by Elvis Presley, but now the property of a collector of Elvis memorabilia. We also silverplated a rose from Elvis's casket.
People have asked to electroplate half-eaten hamburgers, doughnuts, computer games, jeans and dog collars. A director from the
crematorium asked us if we could bronze a chicken leg, in an investigation into whether human bodies will be able to be preserved
in the future. Technically we could preserve a human body, but it is morbid and imagine the licences you'd need.

A big part of our business is to chrome-plate plastic and fibreglass dashboards, grills, mirrors, door handles. We also cater for
bathroom renovators who want their plastic taps and fittings re-chromed

Re-chroming spa nozzles and shower taps
I have been slack with updating the articles in my website. We have a lot of customers that are
frantically looking to re-chrome either the spa nozzles or taps. As you know we not only bronze baby shoes
but bronze any materials such as plastic and fibreglass and anything that is not metal. Below is an e-mail from a customer.
comments: Hi, I have searched Australia for replacement cover plates and nozzles for our spa jets and they don't make
them anymore and no one has any chrome look ones. They are plastic but look like they have been coated in a
gold (look?) finish. I can send you some photos to see if you are able to nickel plate these. We want to sell the house
and are desperate to have these match all the other fittings in the bathroom. I have 12 of these 40mm
cover plates and 12 x 10mm nozzles that fit inside the cover plates.
If you could do these, roughly how much do you think they would cost? Best regards, S.I.

Weird and wonderful
I think I mentioned before that we bronzed beautiful antique lace in 24 k gold for a fashion designer student.
Yesterday was the fashion parade and we saw weird and wonderful designs.
The tension was enormous as they announced a dress with lace collar that is now metalized.
I am always amazed how people perceive something in their minds and then create something so beautiful.
One dress was made out of Horse hair. I must say this was very impressive, although I could imagine it to be itchy .
This surely must have taken a few months to braid all the hair and then saw it all together and make a dress. Whats next?
Bronzed Horse hair? Why not? We have bronzed our daughters hair and made them into earrings.

Bronzed bow tie
Bronzed bow tie.

Set the scene and steal the show.

Take advantage of our bronzing services.
As you know our Logo is “you name it we bronze it”
Why not surprise your club members with a chromed or bronzed bow tie? Attend your next AGM car club meeting with not
only a bronzed tie but also the handkerchief. One of our customers is called the chrome man by his members. Everything on his car is chrome-plated so they call him Mr. Bling.
Mr. Bling will do justice to his name and attend the meeting with all that chromed or bronzed bling. Very eye catching.
Express creativity and be first at something.
I told you we bronze weird and wonderful things. What could you think of having bronzed?

Even signatures can be bronzed
Could you get excited about bronzed signatures?

Are you tired of the same old gold trophies?

Listen closely. What if I told you we bronze signatures? Well I’ve got news for you.
Yes we can. Walter came up with an absolute amazing idea that can add value to any special awards.
This technique is not done anywhere else.
Throughout life, there are many special events that deserve recognition. Why not give something very special?
It is our concept to transform an ordinary item into an object that fascinate.
So far we have bronzed 2 signatures, one for Steven Menzies and one for His Royal Highness of Malaysia.
A few months ago the Prince exhibited his RX7 at the Motor ex in Sydney. Some of our customers knew that we specialize
bronzing on any base materials (not metal) such as paper, cardboard, glass, fiberglass, wood etc. they wanted to give the Prince something special.
Please check out my blog and see the picture of HRH’s bronzed signature.
Novel idea, don’t you think? There is absolutely nothing that we haven’t bronzed.
What would you think off? I dare you to challenge us. http://bronzing.blogspot.com

selectively bronzed lace
One of our customers, a young lady in her final year of studying fashion design is working on her
final project. She wants to bring back romance and is creating an absolute amazing piece of art. In her mind she saw a stunning and wonderful design
and wanted to incorporate the technique of electroforming (or bronzing as people call it) part of the dress. Finding someone to do that incredible labour
intensive job was a hard task. She searched the internet for electroforming (bronzing technique) and came to our website. After long discussions
and reasoning why it couldn’t be done the way she imagined she never accepted no for an answer. Walter gave her a few other ideas like electroplating
the collar that could be re-attached after bronzing and also bronzing a long piece of lace that could be cut in pieces and then sown on afterwards.
The incredible bubbly young lady was over the moon that she could still do part of the dress as she wanted. Lace used to be popular for
decorating accessories, such as collars or handkerchiefs. Have a look at painting where you find a lot of lace on men and women.
Apparently “Henry III used 4,000 yards of lace for one outfit, as many husbands outdid their wives in adorning themselves.” This young lady had an incredible imagination
and is in the process of stitching on all the bronzed lace. This dress will be sensational stunning and unique. We at the Bronzing Studio can’t wait
for the cat walk in November.

Bronzed Face mask
Bronzed Sleep apnoea mask.

Sleep apnoea, a disruption of breathing while asleep, is a deceiving sleep disorder - 90% of people who have
sleep apnoea don't know that they have it! Wow this is a huge amount. When you stop breathing, your brain does not get enough oxygen. Serious problems can result
such as learning and memory problems etc.(I wonder if I have that disease?) A lot of masks are being sold. At the Bronzing Studio we have bronzed some of the masks and made
them into corporate awards. It was a very challenging job. The silicone rubber of the mouth piece is paper thin and very few things adhere to it. The rubber is extremely flexible
and this required a lot of skills to bronze. The 2 prongs at the bottom of the mask were deliberately put there so we could mount the mask. There is absolutely
nothing that we cannot bronze. I dare you to think of something.

Bronzed footyboot of Steven Menzies
Bronzing is technically an electroplating process, but most people are unaware of that term.
We have received phone calls from women asking for the price of having the whole body bronzed. This is not what we do.
In our case, an actual layer of heavy copper is electroplated onto an object to produce a bronze-like surface.
This electroplating is the method traditionally used for "bronzing" of baby shoes. But to electroplate a non-conductive item like baby shoes or any
other materials (not metal), a conductive material must first be applied. Then the electroplating can begin.
Advertising under Bronzing is difficult for our business, although we still appear on the first page.If you do a Google search under Bronzing
you will come up over 2 million instances of the word. So you can see I must work quite hard at advertising.they once were and still are.

Bronzed Toohey's bottle
As you know The Bronzing Studio can bronze anything.

Our Logo is “You name it we Bronze it”

A lot of our work is used by Artists, corporate companies, Film studios, Sculptors and other big companies.
Having your props bronzed in real metal (copper, nickel and gold) is definitely eye catching.
Not so long ago we partially electroplated a Toohey’s dry bottle in nickel and 24 k gold that was used for an ad. Most Toohey’s beer
is sold in bottles and the consumption per year is about 300 million litres. Toohey's dates from 1869. It is popular with young people, which may be why Tooheys Extra Dry (TED)
sponsors the music festival and many surfing events.
We also create “one off” awards for you.
To see the picture go to my blog on: http://bronzing.blogspot.com

Gold-plated Umbilical cord
Gold-plated Umbilical cords.
I always told you that we at the Bronzing Studio bronze weird and wonderful things.

The umbilical cord (also called the birth cord ) is the connecting cord from the developing embryo or fetus to the placenta.
It forms by the fifth week of fetal development.
Clamping is followed by cutting of the cord, which is painless due to the lack of any nerves. The cord is extremely tough, like thick sinew.

Some of our customers (mainly Asians) have the cords gold-plated because it is the closest link between mother and child.
Some people keep their Kidney stones or Gallbladder stones in a jar to remember the pain.

At the Bronzing Studio we never know in the morning what sort of items come in.
We even had a phone call to ask if we could Bronze a piece of foreskin. (Yuck)

Leave me a comment on my blog and tell me what you are thinking about Bronzed umbilical cords or bronzed foreskin.

If you want to see a gold-plated cord go the blog

Bronzed Hot-cross bun and gold-plated Chocolate Easter bunny.
It's this time of the year again. Christmas gone and Easter here.
I bet you never thought it possible to find those bronzed items on any website in the world.
I often wonder where that tradition comes from, giving chocolate (real not bronzed)and hot-cross buns for Easter!
Why is it eaten at Easter? I am a bit of a loss to try and explain the beliefs and traditions that we associate with Easter. That is only my belief. I like chocolate all year round.
Why does the Hot-cross buns have a cross? Apparently the Pope made an exception for these rolls. Bakers marked the rolls with a cross
to show that they had the Pope's approval. As Easter marks the end of the Lenten fast, food is an important part of this festival.
Wheat is another symbol of life and on Good Friday many people in Europe and North America eat hot cross buns.
"The Easter bunny probably has its origin in pre-Christian fertility tradition. The hare and the rabbit were the most fertile animals
known and they served as symbols of new life during the blossoming Spring season. The bunny as an Easter symbol appears to have its origins in Europe,
where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1500's.The first edible Easter bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800's,
and were made of pastry and sugar"

We at the Bronzing Studio can preserve in Bronze, silver or 24 k gold everything imaginable.

Bronzing (Ancient electricity)
The most likely use for electricity among the Parthians would have been the electroplating (sometimes referred to as bronzing)
of figurines, an advance on the art of gilding which dated back centuries before them. The battery could have been used to apply a voltage between a metal statuette and
an ingot of gold while both were immersed in an electrolyte. Gold would have been transferred through the liquid to be deposited as a thin film on the figure’s surface.
Similar clay pots have been found at other sites near Baghdad. They are a salutary reminder that our conceptions of mankind’s historical
development are often based as much on ignorance as on knowledge of skills of a particular period.
Static electricity was known to the ancients: they knew, for instance, that when amber (in Greek elektron) was rubbed, it would attract light
objects such as dust and hairs. So the technique of generating electrical current -which is electric charge in motion-, could have been an equally haphazard,
isolated discovery centuries before it’s generally recognised initial use. Neither finding seemed to lead to further technological development or insight into the causes of the
phenomenon, however, although some enthusiasts have claimed that the Parthians- and, before them, the ancient Egyptians – used electric light.
There are, indeed, enough soberly accredited anomalies of technology from the past to keep us well aware that some of our ancestors
did develop their technology- and to astonishingly high levels.

At the Bronzing Studio we specialize electroplating (bronzing) on non-conductors; any base material but not metal. In order for us to
electroplate (bronze) the organic materials, we need to make it conductive with a conductive paint. Then a small hole will be drilled to attach a wire to conduct electricity

In about 3 weeks I will have a new webpage with a photo gallery so that I can show you what we actually can and do bronze.

We get a lot of phone calls from women asking us about the price for full body bronzing. Sorry ladies that’s not what we bronze.

Bronzed Baked Beans
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN BRONZED BEANS? (Chilli con carne)

We are talking about a trophy that we did for the Big Brother Friday night Life games winner.
Big Brother is a reality television show where, in each series, a group of people live together in the Big Brother House,
isolated from the outside world but continuously watched by television cameras. Once a week on a Friday night Big Brother had a games night.
In its 8th weeks the theme of the game was “Mexican” and Jamie won the Chilli con carne prize related to the theme.
The Bronzing Studio contacted the coordinators of The Big Brother and mentioned that we could actually preserve and
bronze the beans in the glass bowl and make it into a special (bronze) award .He didn’t win the major prize, hence not gold but bronze.
To cut a long story short we met up with Jamie which had the beans in his freezer to preserve it and handed it to us.
He was thrilled to bits that he can have his award preserved for a lifetime and more.
Finally the momentum from the “Friday Night Games” has materialized.
We bronzed the chilli con carne in order to not only preserve the contents, but bronzing has always been synonym
with preserving a cherished moment or milestone in ones life.
We chrome plated the glass bowl, so that every time he looks at it he can see a winner!
We believe that Jamie is the only person in the world if not universe to have such a unique memento all chromed and bronzed.

Bronzed baby shoes, teeth and umbilical clip

Shoes, baby's first shoes.
Once soft leather in the palest shade of pink, now bronzed they stand together on the mantelpiece.
My little baby's feet once filled those shoes, tiny feet now fully grown. They walk towards a future full of hope, taking with them all my love.
Imagine giving your child a pair of his or her bronzed shoes or even a dummy or the first milk teeth as a 21st Birthday gift or a wedding gift.
Give your loved ones a unique and personalized gift that will capture those precious moments in bronze.
Bronzed baby shoes and even Gift certificates are quite poplar and are a beautiful way to treasure the memory of your baby's first steps.
We will also answer your questions about unusual bronzing request, such as umbilical cord clips, hospital ID bands, first lock of hair, teeth,
pacifiers, baseballs and gloves, golf balls, adult shoes and anything that is not metal.

Bronzed sentimental items.
This is the first blog since we came back from the Christmas break and I find it a bit hard to get back to writing. (Use it or loose it)
We create personalized items in bronze, silver and 24 k gold.
Why not eternalize the first school pencil or the mightily chewed one to get you through that last school exam?
A pencil can write an average of 45.000 words. We find pencils everywhere, at school, at home, at the office and so on.
Authors and presidents made history with their cedar pencils.
Some famous people that never left home without it were:
Leonardo da Vinci, he frequently sketched in pencil.
Thomas Edison's bright idea was to keep a small pencil in his pocket just to jot down notes.
I am sure that your sons or daughters have created beautiful drawings or written sentimental words with that special cedar pencil that you want to keep it bronzed.
Bronzing has been used for centuries.

Sentimental Akubra Hat
BRONZED AKUBRA HAT. The trademark name ‘Akubra’, which is an Aboriginal word for head covering has become an Australian Icon.
The shape is identical with the landscape of outback Australia, with a sharply rising and falling, rough, or jagged surface
I believe they made over 20 different styles of hats for the new Film “Australia”

Our customer was not part of that Film. He traveled across Australia for many years taking accurate measurements of land areas
in order to determine boundaries, elevations, and dimensions. The Akubra has protected millions of Australians against harsh conditions like sun, wind and rain.

The hat was on his head 6-7 days per week and became his best friend (beside his wife that traveled with him) On his retirement the wife sent
the sentimental worn out hat to be Bronzed.
The Bronzed hat is now a showcase with many stories to be told.
Why not Bronze your sentimental items?

Selectively chrome-plated glasses

Famous science fiction film.
“Neo was a young software engineer and part-time hacker who was singled out by some
mysterious figures who wanted to introduce him into the secret of 'the matrix'.
The cops also seemed to be after him, and he took a chance on discovering what he always
suspected: that the world was not quite what it seemed to be and that a sinister conspiracy is at work.

”You might remember a bar scene where Cypher said (about his drink):
"It's good for two things, degreasing engines and killing brain cells."

The selectively chromed glasses they used for the drinks were Chrome-plated by
the Bronzing Studio- Chrometech in Castle Hill. Our services are regularly used by Br> • Fox Studio
• Warner Bros
• Model Makers
• Artists
• Sculptors
• Car lovers (Chrome-plating plastic car parts)
• Sports coordinators
• Event coordinators

Chrome-plated Termintor head

Pictured here is the replica Terminator head as portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the later
series of The Terminator movies, chrome plated by The Bronzing Studio.
The Bronzing Studio-Chrometech performed special effect electroplating
for films including Superman, Star wars, Matrix and the Terminator.

"I'll be back." is the famous catchphrase associated with Arnold Schwarzenegger's title charactrer from the thriller
film series 'The Terminator'. Did you know that in the original shooting script, the line was written as "i'll come back"?
A survey released determined that the catchphrase "i'll be back" to be the line from a film most commonly>br> used in everyday conversation.

Anything can be bronzed.
Do you recognise this 'prancing horse' symbol? This as you may know is an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Maranello, Italy. Founded in 1928, manufacturing only race cars before moving into production of street legal vehicles in 1947.

"The horse was originally the symbol of Count Francesco Baracca, legendary of the Italian air force
during WWI, who painted it on the side of his planes. The Scuderia Ferrari logo Coat of Arms
of the City of Stuttgart, Scuderia Ferrari left the horse black as it had been on Baracca's plane; however,
he added a yellow background because it was the symbolic color of his birthplace, Modena. "
The material of the horse was made of fiberglass and plastic. To have it chrome-plated to that smooth
finish was a labour intensive process.
Any material can be bronzed or chrome-plated. We don't electroplate on metal.

As you can see from this large chrome plated statue of the horse plated by The Bronzing Studio,
the quality of work that has been achieved, which is expected from our clients and the high standards of
the branding it already portrays.

100 year old bronzed baby shoes

"8,000-year-old shoes found in a Missouri cave show that footwear fashion is nothing new -
and is in fact much older than anyone thought, scientists said."
"The shoes were found in a cave on a Missouri River bluff near Columbia about 40 years ago,
but the relics in the cave were all jumbled up, making them hard to date. However, they are very well-preserved
and tell a lot about shoe fashions in prehistoric times."
"The shoes are complete, you can certainly tell which foot they were on. You can feel toe impressions on the inside.
They wore out in the same way ours do. We have found repair holes on them."

Our shoes in the picture are only 100 years old. They are bronzed with a 24 k gold finish so they too can stay
well-preserved to be passed on to next generations. At the back of the shoes you can see that they had been mended
with a thick thread.

Yes the people at the Bronzing Studio can help you own a beautiful masterpiece.
You name it, we Bronze it is our slogan.

Steven Menzies famous Albion head-gear

of Steven Menzies special boot award in a blog to follow.

Memories in bronze, silver or 24 k gold
We at the Bronzing Studio bronze people's sentimental treasures, preserving them and the memories they are associated with.
Bronzing gives things a different perspective. Ancient Egyptians used electroplating but as far as we know there is nobody else doing what we do. So what actually do we bronze?
Let your imagination go wild. Baby's first tooth, first lock of hair, christening booties, seashells, sport achievements, slices of the wedding cake,
doughnuts, gumleaves, flowers from the wedding bouquet, champagne bottles, corks. Yes you guessed it... Plaster castings of boobs and ......
The weirdest things that we have bronzed were Koala droppings that Japanese tourist bought as key-rings. Souvenir from Australia.
Feel free to pop in and visit our showroom. You will be amazed what you can see and find here.

Bronzed Pillow Case
“Pillows were originally used mainly by the wealthy, and have been found in Ancient Egyptian tombs. The difficulty of sophisticated
dyes and sewing techniques led to the development of pillows as an art form, with highly decorated pillows becoming prized commodities
first in China and Persia and later in Medieval Europe. Traditional Chinese pillows are often hard boxes made from stone, wood,
metal or porcelain instead of stuffed fabric.” (Wikipedia)

I wonder if the artist was inspired by the Chinese? Actually she did an art work themed “Feel The Music”
We at the Bronzing Studio Bronzed the pillow case in a Nickel finish and the artist inserted a sound system.
Wrap it around your stomach, feel the music and be connected.
Be innovative, bring your items to the Bronzing Studio and we transform your ideas either in copper, nickel or chrome.

Bronzed Pasta
If you are like me you like unusual things.
In our showcase we exhibit gold-plated coffee beans, copper-plated fruit, chrome-plated pasta.
If you can think it we can bronze it, that’s our logo.
Bronzed Pasta???? Did you know that there are more than 600 pasta shapes world wide? Pasta existed for thousands of years before anybody
ever thought of putting tomato sauce on it.
One of our customers came up with the idea of chrome-plating a few of the pasta shapes and to create unusual jewellery.
If you think that this is outrageous, why not visit our showroom at the Bronzing Studio.

Gold, Nickel and copperplated sea shells

Keeping special moments alive in Bronze

Roses have always represented enduring Love.
As with everything that lives, Roses wither and the memories of the moments fade.
Take a deep breath and relax.

At the Bronzing Studio we make it possible to preserve the moments of joy or the memories of a loved one
in the form of bronzing in either in silver or 24 k gold.

Bronzed memories

How to bring back pleasant memories in Bronze.
I bet you have never thought it possible to bronze real fruit and vegetables!
Do you want to know how to preserve those special awards in bronze?
Usually, a plant is not called an heirloom if it is grown widely and commercially, regardless of how old it is.
Some heirloom plants are much older, some being apparently pre-historic.
You don’t have to wait. Pass on those achievements to your next generation.
We have customers bringing in their special award winning products to be bronzed either in copper, nickel, chrome or 24 k gold.
Why not display a gallery of bronzed achievements? Eye brow raising!
What if I told you that we electroplate individual rice, coffee beans, tomatoes, apples, eggplants, garlic, leek, pumpkin.
You get the drift.

Gold-plated balls
What's next?

Gold-plated Balls?

The elusive hole-in-one is certainly a unique memory for the golfer lucky enough
to achieve the ace. Appropriately we at The Bronzing Studio have come up with an innovation.
Gold-plating balls.... Golf balls that is.

The golfer who wants to preserve his hole-in-one as a keepsake can have the balls treated with a bronzing technique.
The balls are unharmed and during the bronzing process that takes several hours, it is gradually coated in a generous
layer of pure precious metal of your choice, either copper, nickel or 24 k gold an set on a bronzed tee.
Items brought into the Bronzing Studio are often one of a kind and have a special meaning to the intended recipient

We electroplate items as large as a pair of Jeans that we created for a retiring professor at the Childrens hospital. ( Jeans for Genes day)
Once a year we create the awards for the NRL players and several other sporting awards.
In my next blog I will upload a photo from Steve Menzies trophy.

bronzed cigaretee

Bronzed cigarette.

Most people who smoke have thought about giving it up.
We at the Bronzing Studio have a solution what to do with your last cigarette.
When you are ready to give it up, smoke only half the cigarette and put it out.
Bring it in to us and we can bronze it for you with the metal of your choice
and engrave it (my last puff, or my last cigarette) with the date when you stopped smoking.
You can either carry the bronzed cigarette with you and when you have the urge, take it out of your pocket, look at it and feel proud of your achievement or you can mount it onto a wooden base
and engrave a plaque.
Invite your friends that supported you giving up smoking and there will definitely be a lot to talk about.

Bronzing award

We are giving people the chance to preserve their sentimental items forever.
We were approached by a lady who organized an event for the Australian Biggest Morning Tea.
The funds raised were for the cancer research. She brought in a chef’s hat for us to bronze.
The bronzed chef’s hat was given for the best bake off.
“An enormous thank you and a plug to Walter and Gerda Schellander of the Bronzing Studio
right here in Anella Ave, Castle Hill…they very willingly donated the magnificent perpetual
trophy “The Copper Chef” If you have any organization/event etc that require an award
with a difference, I can’t compliment them enough.
Thank you thank you thank you Walter and Gerda
Everyone was blown away by your efforts and generosity”
Kind regards
Jane W.

golden memories
Don’t know what to do with those tiny baby milk-teeth
your mother always stored in an old matchbox in the garage?

Sentimental items of babyhood as well as other strange but
dearly-held objects, are being gold, silver or copper-plated.
A lot of people call this process “bronzing”
Other popular items that some parents never quite have the heart
to throw away include baby’s locks, rattles, bonnets, bibs, dummies
and locks of hair.

Anything can be “ bronzed” or encased in metal to keep the meaningful memories

Unique memories

Mrs. Betty H. from N.S.W. has kept her children’s
baby shoes wrapped in tissue paper and securely stored
for more that 40 years in one of her drawers as a clear
reminder of pleasant times gone by.
After finally finding a bronzing company (us) she now proudly
displays the beautiful bronzed shoes on her mantle shelf.
Needless to say those bronzed shoes will initiate many fond discussions.
Her daughter too had her three daughter’s christening booties
bronzed with 24 k gold.

I am sure that the grand-children will keep up the tradition of bronzing their children’s shoes as well.

bronzing baby shoes
Traditionally people hang on to memorabilia surrounding
their children and treasure the priceless milestones in their
child’ lives.

The service that we at The Bronzing Studio provide is to turn
these bronzed shoes into beautiful ornaments to be kept
as an heirloom forever for generations to come.
Imagine giving your child a pair of his or her
bronzed shoes as a 21st Birthday present or as a wedding gift
or just something to pass on.

bronzing

The weirdest request for bronzing came from a young woman
that wanted to give something very special for her husband’s 30th Birthday.
She knew that we bronze anything from plaster to glass to wood.
Her request was to make a plaster casting of her boobs and get them gold-plated.
Guess what the use was for them? She installed them on the bedroom door as door handles. I wonder if it was used as a foreplay before entering the bedroom! What an original idea to gold-plate your breasts and what an heirloom to pass down generations to come!

Anything can be Bronzed.

1. Baby's dummy

2. Baby Shoes

3. Ballet Shoes

4. The Football boots or Netball Shoes that you won the Championship with.

Basically this is How it Happens

The procedure used when plating plastic and fiberglass and any other non-conductive items entails thorough cleaning, smoothing and repairing of any cracks and scratches. The items are then covered with a special conductive gold coating and allowed to dry. Areas that don't require plating can be left uncoated with a special non-conductive paint applied to prevent the plating from occurring in that area.

1. Every plastic or fiberglass car part that is sent in for electroplating is evaluated to determine exactly what process will be used. This is decided predominantly by the type of material the quality and condition of the surface.

2. The parts are stripped using a caustic or solvent mix to remove any paint or other unwanted debris from the surface. Once again this is decided predominantly by the type of material

3. After stripping, the components are checked for damage and repaired where necessary. This includes filling gaps or reconstructing missing parts- This is a huge job for some items.

4. Any areas which do not require plating are then carefully masked off with a tape.

5. Electrodes are placed to ensure an even coating across the plating surface. Placement is critical to protect against build-ups in some areas and an uneven finish overall

6. The parts are now coated with three layers of primer to ensure adhesion of the conductive paint to applied later. (Both the primer and the conductive paint are formulated in-house)

7. After the primer is allowed to dry overnight, three coats of conductive paints are then applied and given 24 hours to dry completely.

8. The components are then placed into a copper plating tank for eight to nine hours where it is gently agitated to obtain an even coating of copper that's 50-250 microns thick, depending upon material and application.

9. The next step is to place it in the nickel tank for approximately one hour to achieve a coating of nickel 20-30 microns thick.

10. The thinnest layer is actually the chrome itself, which is added as the last step in the process.

NOTE: The finished items look every bit as good as it would have when first produced, and is a huge improvement on the pitted and faded parts which were sent in originally
