| Gold-plated dim sims |
| Unbelievable what people collect and bring into the Bronzing Studio for bronzing. We find it mind-blowing. A customer brought in about 6 dim sims to be coated in nickel and gold.A novel idea. Brings back memories? A dim sim is a Chinese-inspired meat dumpling-style snack food popular in Australia. The first step we had to do is bring them to be freeze dried to extract all the water and fat.Than we had to seal them with a resin making sure not to deminish any of the details, inserting an electrode in the form of a copper wire to pass the current and to hold the dim sims in the plating tank. They are then coated with a conductive paint, copper-plated for 4-6 hours, nickel-plated and last but not least gold-plated. It sure will last a lifetime. Picture yourself with a collection of bronzed dim sims. You would be absolutely unique. Our motto is, You name it, we bronze it. |
| Bronzing sentimental items |
| One of our customers inquired if we can bronze a blade of grass. The grass was where he met his fiancee 1o years ago. Nothing surprises us anymore, but the imagination certainly went wild at exactly why people want things bronzed. We bronzed wedding lingerie, lace on wedding dresses, umbilical cords, silk booties, dummies, body parts and even covered dim sums in 24 k gold. As well as helping artists with sculptures we assist people who want to preserve and protect their keepsakes and heirlooms to turn them into keepsakes. It's all about eternalising a moment in time. When we cover keepsakes like baby shoes and hospital bands we are preserving the moment in which these people came onto Earth. The Bronzing Studio has also restored and covered objects tied to people leaving Earth, including a pair of sunglasses owned by Elvis Presley, but now the property of a collector of Elvis memorabilia. We also silverplated a rose from Elvis's casket. People have asked to electroplate half-eaten hamburgers, doughnuts, computer games, jeans and dog collars. A director from the crematorium asked us if we could bronze a chicken leg, in an investigation into whether human bodies will be able to be preserved in the future. Technically we could preserve a human body, but it is morbid and imagine the licences you'd need.

| Re-chroming spa nozzles and shower taps |
| I have been slack with updating the articles in my website. We have a lot of customers that are frantically looking to re-chrome either the spa nozzles or taps. As you know we not only bronze baby shoes but bronze any materials such as plastic and fibreglass and anything that is not metal. Below is an e-mail from a customer. comments: Hi, I have searched Australia for replacement cover plates and nozzles for our spa jets and they don't make them anymore and no one has any chrome look ones. They are plastic but look like they have been coated in a gold (look?) finish. I can send you some photos to see if you are able to nickel plate these. We want to sell the house and are desperate to have these match all the other fittings in the bathroom. I have 12 of these 40mm cover plates and 12 x 10mm nozzles that fit inside the cover plates. If you could do these, roughly how much do you think they would cost? Best regards, S.I. |
| Weird and wonderful |
| I think I mentioned before that we bronzed beautiful antique lace in 24 k gold for a fashion designer student. Yesterday was the fashion parade and we saw weird and wonderful designs. The tension was enormous as they announced a dress with lace collar that is now metalized. I am always amazed how people perceive something in their minds and then create something so beautiful. One dress was made out of Horse hair. I must say this was very impressive, although I could imagine it to be itchy . This surely must have taken a few months to braid all the hair and then saw it all together and make a dress. Whats next? Bronzed Horse hair? Why not? We have bronzed our daughters hair and made them into earrings.

| selectively bronzed lace |
| One of our customers, a young lady in her final year of studying fashion design is working on her final project. She wants to bring back romance and is creating an absolute amazing piece of art. In her mind she saw a stunning and wonderful design and wanted to incorporate the technique of electroforming (or bronzing as people call it) part of the dress. Finding someone to do that incredible labour intensive job was a hard task. She searched the internet for electroforming (bronzing technique) and came to our website. After long discussions and reasoning why it couldnt be done the way she imagined she never accepted no for an answer. Walter gave her a few other ideas like electroplating the collar that could be re-attached after bronzing and also bronzing a long piece of lace that could be cut in pieces and then sown on afterwards. The incredible bubbly young lady was over the moon that she could still do part of the dress as she wanted. Lace used to be popular for decorating accessories, such as collars or handkerchiefs. Have a look at painting where you find a lot of lace on men and women. Apparently Henry III used 4,000 yards of lace for one outfit, as many husbands outdid their wives in adorning themselves. This young lady had an incredible imagination and is in the process of stitching on all the bronzed lace. This dress will be sensational stunning and unique. We at the Bronzing Studio cant wait for the cat walk in November. |

| Bronzing is technically an electroplating process, but most people are unaware of that term. We have received phone calls from women asking for the price of having the whole body bronzed. This is not what we do. In our case, an actual layer of heavy copper is electroplated onto an object to produce a bronze-like surface. This electroplating is the method traditionally used for "bronzing" of baby shoes. But to electroplate a non-conductive item like baby shoes or any other materials (not metal), a conductive material must first be applied. Then the electroplating can begin. Advertising under Bronzing is difficult for our business, although we still appear on the first page.If you do a Google search under Bronzing you will come up over 2 million instances of the word. So you can see I must work quite hard at advertising. they once were and still are. Visit our other website on chroming plastic car parts www.chrometech.com.au |

| Bronzed Hot-cross bun and gold-plated Chocolate Easter bunny. |
| It's this time of the year again. Christmas gone and Easter here. I bet you never thought it possible to find those bronzed items on any website in the world. I often wonder where that tradition comes from, giving chocolate (real not bronzed)and hot-cross buns for Easter! Why is it eaten at Easter? I am a bit of a loss to try and explain the beliefs and traditions that we associate with Easter. That is only my belief. I like chocolate all year round. Why does the Hot-cross buns have a cross? Apparently the Pope made an exception for these rolls. Bakers marked the rolls with a cross to show that they had the Pope's approval. As Easter marks the end of the Lenten fast, food is an important part of this festival. Wheat is another symbol of life and on Good Friday many people in Europe and North America eat hot cross buns. "The Easter bunny probably has its origin in pre-Christian fertility tradition. The hare and the rabbit were the most fertile animals known and they served as symbols of new life during the blossoming Spring season. The bunny as an Easter symbol appears to have its origins in Europe, where it was first mentioned in German writings in the 1500's.The first edible Easter bunnies were made in Germany during the early 1800's, and were made of pastry and sugar" We at the Bronzing Studio can preserve in Bronze, silver or 24 k gold everything imaginable. |
| Bronzing (Ancient electricity) |
| The most likely use for electricity among the Parthians would have been the electroplating (sometimes referred to as bronzing) of figurines, an advance on the art of gilding which dated back centuries before them. The battery could have been used to apply a voltage between a metal statuette and an ingot of gold while both were immersed in an electrolyte. Gold would have been transferred through the liquid to be deposited as a thin film on the figures surface. Similar clay pots have been found at other sites near Baghdad. They are a salutary reminder that our conceptions of mankinds historical development are often based as much on ignorance as on knowledge of skills of a particular period. Static electricity was known to the ancients: they knew, for instance, that when amber (in Greek elektron) was rubbed, it would attract light objects such as dust and hairs. So the technique of generating electrical current -which is electric charge in motion-, could have been an equally haphazard, isolated discovery centuries before its generally recognised initial use. Neither finding seemed to lead to further technological development or insight into the causes of the phenomenon, however, although some enthusiasts have claimed that the Parthians- and, before them, the ancient Egyptians used electric light. There are, indeed, enough soberly accredited anomalies of technology from the past to keep us well aware that some of our ancestors did develop their technology- and to astonishingly high levels.
At the Bronzing Studio we specialize electroplating (bronzing) on non-conductors; any base material but not metal. In order for us to In about 3 weeks I will have a new webpage with a photo gallery so that I can show you what we actually can and do bronze. We get a lot of phone calls from women asking us about the price for full body bronzing. Sorry ladies thats not what we bronze. |

| Bronzed sentimental items. |
| This is the first blog since we came back from the Christmas break and I find it a bit hard to get back to writing. (Use it or loose it) We create personalized items in bronze, silver and 24 k gold. Why not eternalize the first school pencil or the mightily chewed one to get you through that last school exam? A pencil can write an average of 45.000 words. We find pencils everywhere, at school, at home, at the office and so on. Authors and presidents made history with their cedar pencils. Some famous people that never left home without it were: Leonardo da Vinci, he frequently sketched in pencil. Thomas Edison's bright idea was to keep a small pencil in his pocket just to jot down notes. I am sure that your sons or daughters have created beautiful drawings or written sentimental words with that special cedar pencil that you want to keep it bronzed. Bronzing has been used for centuries. |

| Bronzed Pillow Case |
| Pillows were originally used mainly by the wealthy, and have been found in Ancient Egyptian tombs. The difficulty of sophisticated dyes and sewing techniques led to the development of pillows as an art form, with highly decorated pillows becoming prized commodities first in China and Persia and later in Medieval Europe. Traditional Chinese pillows are often hard boxes made from stone, wood, metal or porcelain instead of stuffed fabric. (Wikipedia)

The weirdest request for bronzing came from a young woman Anything can be Bronzed. 1. Baby's dummy 2. Baby Shoes 3. Ballet Shoes 4. The Football boots or Netball Shoes that you won the Championship with. 5. The pen you chewed mightily to get through that last school exam 6. Roses or flower's from your wedding bouquet 7. Wedding shoes 8. Champagne bottle or part of a bottle, maybe a cork that reminds you of a special occasion. 9. Sugar decorations from a wedding cake 10. Insects, crustaceans, leeks, garlic cloves and so on We also create "one off" corporate awards and capture personalized impressions of your company. The bronzing process protects for all time your special memories and mementoes. Basically this is How it Happens The procedure used when plating plastic and fiberglass and any other non-conductive items entails thorough cleaning, smoothing and repairing of any cracks and scratches. The items are then covered with a special conductive gold coating and allowed to dry. Areas that don't require plating can be left uncoated with a special non-conductive paint applied to prevent the plating from occurring in that area. 1. Every plastic or fiberglass car part that is sent in for electroplating is evaluated to determine exactly what process will be used. This is decided predominantly by the type of material the quality and condition of the surface. 2. The parts are stripped using a caustic or solvent mix to remove any paint or other unwanted debris from the surface. Once again this is decided predominantly by the type of material 3. After stripping, the components are checked for damage and repaired where necessary. This includes filling gaps or reconstructing missing parts- This is a huge job for some items. 4. Any areas which do not require plating are then carefully masked off with a tape. 5. Electrodes are placed to ensure an even coating across the plating surface. Placement is critical to protect against build-ups in some areas and an uneven finish overall 6. The parts are now coated with three layers of primer to ensure adhesion of the conductive paint to applied later. (Both the primer and the conductive paint are formulated in-house) 7. After the primer is allowed to dry overnight, three coats of conductive paints are then applied and given 24 hours to dry completely. 8. The components are then placed into a copper plating tank for eight to nine hours where it is gently agitated to obtain an even coating of copper that's 50-250 microns thick, depending upon material and application. 9. The next step is to place it in the nickel tank for approximately one hour to achieve a coating of nickel 20-30 microns thick. 10. The thinnest layer is actually the chrome itself, which is added as the last step in the process. NOTE: The finished items look every bit as good as it would have when first produced, and is a huge improvement on the pitted and faded parts which were sent in originally |
